I’ve always been drawn to the darker side of things.

Not in a dramatic way. Just in the way that the most interesting stories tend to live there - in the shadows at the edge of the map, in the characters who don’t quite fit, in the moments where something ancient and unnamed begins to stir.

I’m Gemma Vale. Dark fantasy writer, obsessive reader, and someone who spent a long time waiting for permission to tell the stories that kept me up at night.

Eventually I stopped waiting.

My debut novel - the first in its series - is the book I would have devoured as a reader. Gothic atmosphere, morally complex characters, ancient forces that don’t play by the rules. The kind of story that gets under your skin and stays there.
